Dr. Nyanza Duplessis
Chief Compliance Officer
Dr. Nyanza Duplessis is the CEO/Founder of Nyanza Enterprises. She provides business coaching and consulting both in the US and Internationally. With over 20 years of business coaching and consulting experience, she has worked with both small and midsize businesses. She is also a coach with Government Contractors Association.
She was a Grants Manager with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for over seven years. She was the first African American female manager in the Office of Economic Development where she specifically managed the state Community Development Block Group Employment Incentive Program (EIP) and Redevelopment Fund programs. With more than 159 counties in Georgia, Nyanza assisted with coordinating a variety of public-private development opportunities throughout the state with various companies, local governments, development authorities with public and private sector financing programs in “non-entitlement” local governments.
Prior to moving to Atlanta, Duplessis was a Resource Development Specialist at the Tuskegee University Rural Business and Economic Development Program in Tuskegee, AL. There she handled the development of resources for businesses, community organizations, non-profits, cities and countries for over ten years, and was responsible for coordinating the City of Tuskegee Strategic Plan.
As a former Resource Development Specialist, Dr. Duplessis has an extensive background in business and micro-enterprise development. She also has expertise with business incubation and business plan development. Prior careers include project director and associate professor.
She has a doctorate in Organizational Development from Breath of Life Deliverance Apostolic and Prophetic University, Newport New, VA. She has a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics specializing in Business and Economic Development from Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, AL. She is a candidate for receiving her Certified Economic Developer (CEcD). In 2018, she became a Certified Federal Contract Professional (CFCP) with Government Contractors Association (GCA). She received her Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) credential in 2009.
Duplessis is currently a member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA). She was a founding board member for the Jobs Task Force, Alabama Micro Enterprise Network Inc., and Women of Style, Spirit and Success. She is also a former member of Association of Enterprise Opportunities (AEO) and International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
Nyanza is a business guru. She believes if you give a man a fish he can eat once. If you teach a man to fish he can eat for a lifetime, but if you teach him how to own the pond, train people how to teach people to fish we can feed the world, create jobs, end the recession and change the world!
